UBITECH Energy’s Anastasis Tzoumpas, Head of Electrical Power & Energy Systems Unit, participated as speaker at the InnoGrid 2022, organized by the European Distribution System Operators’ Association (E.DSO) and the European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E) on Tuesday, 14 June.

 

InnoGrid has been the annual appointment on European innovation in power networks for a decade now. InnoGrid 2022 “Value of the Grids” looks into power networks being central to the delivery of Europe’s energy & climate goals, integrating more renewables and new technologies. In that context on 14 June, a selection of EU funded projects including FARCROSS that showcases how the project brings value to the grid. The focus throughout InnoGrid 2022 has been on how to accelerate the transition in order to reach the European ambition in the next decades.

UBITECH Energy, as FARCROSS’s technical coordinator,  presented how FARCROSS develops grid-enhancing solutions to enhance the security of supply in the SE European region without adding new grids.

The Annual Strategy Meeting 2022 of IPTO was successfully held for a 5th consecutive year. The basic points of the event were the Sustainable Development Strategy that will cover all the activities of the Operator and the 10th anniversary since IPTO’s establishment. As every year, the Chairman and CEO of IPTO referred to the most significant moments and achievements of 2021, awarded prizes to the groups of employees who were distinguished and presented the most important goals for 2022. The MPFC demo of FARCROSS was awarded as one of the best projects of the previous year.

FARCROSS partners met online on the 29th of March 2022 to discuss the project’s status and progress. Administrative, technical, dissemination and demo results were all on the program. Members of the consortium discussed their accomplishments and decided on the next actions.

The WP5 team of the FARCROSS project has organized their second offline meeting hosted by BME, MAVIR and MEI. The meeting took place in Budapest and has created the perfect opportunity for the partners to summarize their achievements closing the first year of the demonstration and validation of the Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) and Heath Index system. During the meeting, the Report on intermediate results of demonstration performance has been finalized. The TSOs and technology providers have shared their valuable input on the lessons learned, as well as their proposals for further improvement for the second half of the implementation. The upcoming steps have been identified together with the preparation of the migration to the next demonstration location. Based on the meeting it is safe to say that WP5 is right on track and ready to face the upcoming tasks of the second half of the demonstration
